Dr. Jeff Rabinovitch
Dr. Jeff Rabinovitch is a General Practitioner and Director of Bridletowne Warden Animal Hospital. He has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1983.
Born in Montreal, Dr. Rabinovitch moved to the Toronto suburb of Willowdale at a young age. After completing high school in Willowdale, he entered the University of Guelph in Ontario where he majored in both Biochemistry and Statistics. However, during his third year of post-secondary school, Dr. Rabinovitch entered the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 1979.
In 1983, Dr. Rabinovitch earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. His areas of particular professional interest include pediatrics, dermatology and cytology, and he is a member of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario and the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association. He also has received additional training in Endoscopy and acted as Director of Veterinary Care for a major Toronto pet supply chain since 1992. For several years, Dr. Rabinovitch served on the Discipline and Ethics Committee as well as acted as Chair of Accreditation for the College of Veterinarians of Ontario.
Dr. Rabinovitch's wife, Liz Saul, is also a veterinarian (Ontario Veterinary College, 1983) and is involved in locum work, research, and speaks at veterinary conferences on human interaction issues. The couple has three teen children: Mathew, Daniel, and Jacob.
At home, Dr. Rabinovitch has a Persian Breeding Queen named Gertrude, and a black lab named Magnum. In addition, the family provides foster care for seeing-eye puppies for Dog Guides of Canada..
Dr. Chrissie Chung
Dr. Chrissie Chung is a General Practitioner who has been a practicing veterinarian since 1999. She joined the staff here at Bridletowne Warden Animal Hospital in early 2010.
Dr. Chung is originally from Seoul, Korea, where she attended Kang-Won National University School of Veterinary Medicine between 1993 and 1999. In 1999, she was awarded a scholarship from the university in recognition of her academic work. Her areas of particular professional expertise include surgery and internal medicine.
Dr. Chung is a member of the Korean Veterinary Medical Association, Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, and the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Chung's husband Patrick is also Korean, but they met in Toronto! He works as a mortgage underwriter in the financial industry and he and Dr. Chung have a 2-year-old son named Terrence. They also enjoy taking care of their domestic shorthair cat named Lucy and two Shih-Tzu dogs named Kko-Mang and Byul.
When not working, Dr. Chung likes to watch movies and travel.
Dr. Israel Arteaga
Dr. Israel Arteaga is a General Practitioner who began practicing veterinary medicine in 2008. He joined the staff of Bridletowne Warden Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician in 2005 and then as a licensed veterinarian in 2008.
Born and raised in Mexico City, Dr. Arteaga says that he fell in love with the idea of a career in animal care as a child growing up around farm animals. “I always wanted to help and treat them as they were sick,” he says. “Now that I am a veterinarian I really enjoy being able to interact and educate clients on how to care and develop the best health care plans for their loved ones.”
For his undergraduate studies Dr. Arteaga attended the National University Autunomous of Mexico where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2000. He then came to Toronto, but a few years later returned to Mexico to attend veterinary school at the National University Autunomous of Mexico. To become a licensed veterinarian in Canada, he attended the Veterinary Skills, Training and Enhancement Program in Ontario, which he completed in 2008.
His areas of particular professional interest include pain management and surgery. Dr. Arteaga also holds continuing education certificates in pain management and critical care, dermatology, and surgery. He is also a member of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association and the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Arteaga has a 5-year-old daughter named Rachel. His interests include all outdoor activities, especially biking, running and hiking.
